Becoming a Member

When new people who have participated for a time in Cornerstone decide that they want to join the fellowship, they make enroll in a class that explains the essentials of faith and the life disciplines that are associated with that faith.

When they have completed the class, they may join by professing their faith in Jesus Christ, rededicating their life to Jesus Christ, or transfering by letter from another Christian church.

No matter what method is appropriate, each applicant shares with the leadership a statement of faith, agrees with the essentials of the faith, and the core values of the congregation; promises to participate regularly in the worship and ministry of the church, support the church with proportionate giving, work out any differences that may come up with other members with open discussion, forbearance, and love, refrain from gossip, and accept the polity of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
